Owner stated that Elsa is fearful towards everyone in the household especially towards the children she will hiss. Elsa is about a year old. She was given as a gift by a friend. Elsa really needs your help tonight. This poor cat was betrayed by her family and for that she can pay a hefty price, with her life. Please consider being the hero Elsa needs tonight. 02/23/16 14:25 Basic Information: Elsa is a year old unaltered female domestic shorthair. She was given as a gift by a friend. Owner stated Elsa is healthy and has no health concerns. Owner surrenders Elsa due to cat behavior in the home. Social Life and Personality: Elsa lived with 2 adults and children ages 4, 6, 8, 12 and 16 years old. Owner stated Elsa is fearful towards everyone in the household especially towards the children she will hiss. Elsa will run and hide when visitors come to the house as well. Elsa lived with a kitten and Elsa was respectful and tolerant of the kitten but they never played with one another. Elsa behavior is unknown towards dogs. She was indoors only and activity level was low. Owner describes Elsa as mellow, shy, independent, aloof and quiet. Behavior: Elsa has scratched a human out of fear but not in the last 10 days. Elsa was never given a bath or nail trim. She only allowed owner to pet her when she approached him. Elsa struggles to get inside carriers. For a New Family to Know: Elsa is litter box trained and uses an uncovered litter box. She rarely seeks attention and stays hidden. She likes to stay under the bed or underneath the couch. Elsa eats wet and dry food called 9 lives. Owner stated Elsa will do best in a home with no childen. Intake Behavior: Upon intake Elsa retrieve to the back of carrier. When touched her eyes dilated but was slowing coming out of the carrier. Once she came out of carrier she fled and hides in a corner. She ran back into cat carrier and only allowed photograph in carrier. She scanned negative for a microchip but no other handling was done at this time.

As per previous owner, Elsa lived with 2 adults and children ages 4, 6, 8, 12 and 16 years old. Elsa is fearful towards everyone in the household especially towards the children she will hiss. Elsa will run and hide when visitors come to the house as well. Elsa lived with a kitten and Elsa was respectful and tolerant of the kitten but they never played with one another. Elsa behavior is unknown towards dogs. She was indoors only and activity level was low. Owner describes Elsa as mellow, shy, independent, aloof and quiet. Reaction to assessor: Elsa was hiding in the cat den When spoken quietly: Elsa continues to hide Reaction to door cage opening: Elsa tries to flee Reaction to touch: Elsa allows petting but remains tense and tries to flee Try picking cat up: Did not attempt Behavior Determination: Experience No Child At the time of the assessment Elsa was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Elsa tries to flee as I started to get closer. I was able to pet her and interact with her in a limited way. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents with no children.
