SAFE 1/7/18 Sweet 10 year Hypothermic Kitty! Needs Immediate Placement! I just went to visit this girl and she is lifting her head and seems very sweet! We have her on a heating pad and her temperature is rising. We don’t know how long she has been out in the cold without food and needs immediate placement.

EENT: Eyes clear, AU-large amount of brown debris, no ear mites seen under microscope, no nasal or ocular discharge noted
Oral Exam: moderate dental calc and gingivitis; mm’s pink, dry
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupneic
ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated
U/G: FI, no spay scar seen
MSI: Weakly ambulatory, flea dirt, no masses noted, severely decreased skin turgor
CNS: Depressed, intermittent tremors
Assessment

Prognosis: guarded
Plan:
Gave 100 mls SQ LRS (x)
Placed IV catheter and gave 40 mls IV LRS bolus followed by LRS at 15 mls/hr
Placed on bair hugger
Temperature improved to 98.8, tremors stopped, she remained lethargic and not eating
SURGERY:
Permanent waiver due to age and medical condition
