06/11/17 12:46 Basic Information: Ello is a 6 year old male that has no past or current medical issues that the owner is aware of. Owner has had Ello for 6 years but had to surrender due to no time. Socialization: According to the owner, around strangers Ello is very friendly and liked to have people pet him. He has been around the owner’s grandson since the baby was born (6 years old now) and Ello was always friendly and affectionate around the child. Owner did not have any other pets in the home so behavior is unknown. Ello does not have a bite history. Behavior: When in the car, Ello will meow. Owner has never tried to trim Ello’s nails or bathe him so behavior is unknown. Ello is not bothered when someone brushes his coat, picks him up and holds him, puts him into a carrier or if someone disturbs him while he is sleeping. For a New Family to Know: Ello is described as friendly, affectionate, playful and talkative. He has a high activity level and likes to play with all types of toys. When the owner was home, he would follow the owner around from room to room. Ello was kept indoors only and is litter box trained. In the home, he used an uncovered litter box with clumping litter. Owner had a scratching post in the home made of carpet and smooth wood and stated that Ello would use it frequently. He was fed Friskies dry food in the home. Behavior during intake: Ello has a soft and relaxed body during intake. Counselor was able to scan for a mc, collar and take a picture without any issues.

Behavior toward cats: Unknown Behavior toward dogs: Unknown Bite or Scratch history: None Litter box training: Yes Energy level/descriptors: Friendly, affectionate, playful and talkative with a high activity level Other notes: He isn’t bothered when someone brushes his coat, picks him up and holds him, puts him into a carrier or if someone disturbs him while he is sleeping. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Sweet, gets nervous and resists restraint but allows full exam ENRICHMENT NOTES: 06/12/17 Lying towards front of kennel, ears forward. He allows all petting, leaning in gently with his head. Lethargic. Limited interaction due to injury. Sprayed feliway. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage recently cleaned Reaction to assessor: Ello was at the front of the kennel eating his food. Reaction when softly spoken to: Ello purr softly then rubs his entire body against the cage door. Reaction to cage door opening: Ello is calm and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Ello leans his head in allowing pets and rubs all over his body. He occasionally grumbles when touched on his back but doesn’t display any further reaction. He appreciates attention and continues purring throughout the interaction. Reaction to being picked up: Ello was tense when picked up and whined to be placed down. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Lively VOCAL: Somewhat chatty CHARACTER TYPE: Sweet, Affectionate Please note that this cat is being treated for a medical condition at the time of evaluation. It is difficult to determine at this time how the medical condition may be affecting the behavior. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average Ello interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
