UG: intact male
MS: 4x ambulatory, BCS 4/9
Neuro: mentation WNL, no ataxia
A: otitis externa
P: ok for neuter tomorrow
Pre/Post S/N (1/27/17)
Pre-surgical exam, anesthesia, and surgery performed by ASPCA.
Green linear tattoo placed lateral to incision
Behavior – Average Home
Cage Condition, no change,
Reaction to assessor: Does not come to front but looks at you-is calm ,relaxed and friendly
Reaction when softly spoken to: Calm and relaxing when spoken to
Reaction to cage door opening: Remains soft and relaxed when kennel door was opened.
Reaction to touch: Slowly allows chin and head rubs.
Reaction to being picked up: Allows quick pick up but rapidly returns to kennel
ENRICHMENT NOTES:. Calm, resting on bedding with soft eyes and body. Stood when offered treats, then came to the front. Leaned and arched into assessor for pets and purred.
MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: tense, nervous, resisted handling, hissing. This initial behavior has been modified since Elliot appears to have become more secure in the shelter environment.
ACTIVITY LEVEL, Moderate
CHARACTER TYPE:, Calm
Elliot interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates mild petting.
This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
