***SAFE 10/11/16***ELLIE is a gorgeous 5 year old cat who sadly ended up at the ACC due to her owner being sick. She was surrendered with 4 other housemates. Ellie’s world has completely fell apart and now she finds herself in a life threatening situation. Ellie needs a new family to open up their heart and home. She will make a wonderful companion if someone would give her a chance which is clearly deserves. Please don’t allow the ACC to kill this beautiful feline when she has so much to offer. 09/29/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Ellie was brought in without information on her behavioral tendencies in a home environment. She allowed all handling to be conducted during her initial medical exam. Reaction to assessor: Ellie was curled up by the back, her body posture neutral. Reaction when softly spoken to: Ellie’s eyes soften and she blinks slowly. Reaction to cage door opening: Ellie becomes slightly alert, but remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Ellie lowers her head and accepts petting on her head and body. She warms up slowly and shifts her body to face the assessor. She head-butts gently, begins to purr, and nuzzles underneath the assessor’s arm. Reaction to being picked up: Ellie was a bit tense during pick up, but remains soft when held. Behavior Determination: Experienced Ellie tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
