Allows handling EENT: Nuclear sclerosis, mild conjunctivitis with mucoid ocular discharge (L>R), minimal active nasal discharge, sounds congeseted HL: Mild increased BV sounds with referred upper airway noise A: Geriatric cat with bronchitis -R/O infectious vs inflammatory, stable condition P: Continue with current treatment and monitoring plan. Consider course of prednisone if no response to abx. Fair prognosis

KNOWN HISTORY: Eli was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Hissing, allows handling and then started to growl ENRICHMENT NOTES: 05/29/17 At front of kennel with ears forward and eyes soft, vocalizing very softly. Begins to knead towel when spoken to. She allows petting along her head and body with tail raised and quivering as she continues to knead the blanket. Sweet girl. Nips my hand gently when I begin to pet her with both hands. May prefer a gentler touch. Also may be uncomfortable due to medical condition. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage recently cleaned Reaction to assessor: Eli was relaxed and purring loudly at the front of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Eli rubs her head up against the kennel door and extends her paws trying to get the assessor’s attention. Reaction to cage door opening: Eli is calm and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Eli leans in when rubbed on her cheeks and allows petting all over her body. She’s very affectionate and continues purring when rubbed along her back. Reaction to being picked up: Eli tolerates being held briefly then gently kicks off the assessor and leaps back into the kennel. She comes right back to the front and continues soliciting attention. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Lively VOCAL: Somewhat chatty CHARACTER TYPE: Sweet, Affectionate, People Oriented Please note that this cat is being treated for a medical condition at the time of evaluation. It is difficult to determine at this time how the medical condition may be affecting the behavior. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average Eli interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
