04/06/17 15:41 Basic Info Ein is a 2 year old DSH whose owner is not capable of caring for her any longer. She has been with her owners her whole life. She has not been to a vet before. Socialization Ein is shy around strangers and will hide when theyt come over for minuted or hours or until they leave depending on how she feels. She reacts the same to children, there are no children in the house. Sometimes she takes a couple of days to acclimate to a new person. She has never been around cats or dogs before. She has not bitten a person or animal before. Behavior Ein sometimes scratches on the sofa but does not have litter box issues. She struggles when being bathed but allows owner to restrain her. Sometimes she allows her nails to be trimmed and sometimes she pulls away or hisses. Sometimes she will allow herself to be brushed and sometimes she struggles and runs away. She allows you to pick her up if she is comfortable with you but only allows it for a short period. New Family Ein has a high level of activity at home and spends her time in the living room mostly but enjoys playing with balls and straw. She is kept solely indoors. She sleeps on the bed i the living room o near the heater which is her favorite spot. She is fed alley cat dry food three times a day. She uses the litter box exclusively and has an uncovered litter box and uses clay non clump litter but is ok with clumping litter as well. No scratch post at home. Intake Behavior Ein was nervous and stayed crouched and it took some effort to get her out of the carrier but once out she attempts to keep her face hidden and remains in a curled up position. She allowed handling for collaring, scanning and photograph.

KNOWN HISTORY: Lived Indoors Previously lived with: an adult Behavior toward strangers: shy and will hide Behavior toward children: shy and will hide Behavior toward cats: unknown Behavior toward dogs: unknown Bite or Scratch history: none Litter box training: yes MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Observed Behavior – Tries to flee EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Ein looks tense, crouched position at the back when approached. Reaction to cage door opening: Ein stiffens up in place, alert with pupils dilated. Reaction to touch: Ein began to flinch when touched and shows no interest. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Motionless VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Skittish, Timid RECOMMENDATIONS: – Experienced, adult home only Ein tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home who understands this cat may need time to warm up to her new home and family at her own pace.
