***SAFE 10/09/16***DUNCAN WAS DUMPED WITH 5 OTHER CATS-TWO STILL IN NEED, DAGAN AND DALE. THREE ARE SAFE! BUT DUNCAN’S LIFE IS THE ONE IN JEOPARDY TONIGHT! His owner was EVICTED and apparently the cats were not welcome to wherever the owner is staying. But the owner will eventually find a new home, however, taking these cats to the nearest HIGH KILL SHELTER was not the smartest of idea’s! Now, poor NEUTERED, DUNCAN may have to pay, with his life, for the sins of the Master! Offer to FOSTER OR ADOPT DUNCAN and pay your bills so DUNCAN won’t have to go through this crap again!

09/27/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
09/27/16 21:43 Duncan is an adult neutered DSH cat. He was brought to ACC with 5 other cats by police after their owner was evicted. There were a 7th cat and 2 dogs in the home, but their owner was able to bring them with him. They arrived together in one large crate. Duncan was stiff but tolerant while I pet him, picked him up, photographed him, scanned him (-), collared him, and put him in a carrier. He lied down and looked around on the counter. He didn’t resist, retreat, or vocalize.

10/05/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Duncan looks neutral, lying down on his cage bedding when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Duncan remains in place, alert with normal shape eyes. Reaction to touch: Duncan seems unsure at first, but began to lean into the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: He becomes antsy then jumps back into the cage. Placement determination: Average Duncan interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents. 10/5 update: Duncan is deteriorating behaviorally in this environment and is beginning to shut down. He has begun avoiding interaction at times, though he continues to display no aggression or threatening behavior and becomes more comfortable with repeated visits by the same caretaker. But he is not thriving in the busy adoptions room and it is in his best interest to move into a stable home environment quickly. He lived previously with multiple cats and dogs, and while this is no guarantee of future behavior Duncan may do well in a similarly populated future home.
