07/19/16 20:40 BASIC INFORMAITON Downey is a neutered, black and white DSH cat that is 10 years old. Downey was a gift to the owner when Downey was 6 years old. The owner is surrendering Downey because she is moving to a place that does not allow pets. Downey has no known illness. SOCIALIZATION Downey has been introduced to children ages 5 and up. He keeps to himself and watches them play. Downey is friendly towards stranger, he solicit attention and allowed being petted. He has lived with one small dog that they lived in harmony. Downey has also lived with a female cat that they play chase and engage in play. BEHAVIOR Downey allows all handling. He does not enjoy being picked up and attempts to flee. He prefers to be petted on the floor. He has never received a bath nor had his nail trimmed. He is fine going into his carrier and always uses his litter box. Downey has never had a bite history. FOR NEW FAMILIES TO KNOW Downey enjoys sleeping and looking out the window. When he noticed people in the house he follows people around. He meows when his hungry and enjoys a diet of Friskies cat dry food. Downey enjoys playing with wand toys and balls with bells. Downey enjoys sleeping anywhere in the house but his favorite place is the kitten floor. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE During intake Downey was nervous. He attempted to flee. But he allowed to be collard, scanned and photographed.

Reaction to assessor: Downey was resting at the back of his cubby. Reaction when softly spoken to: Downey comes forward slowly and looks out at his surroundings. Reaction to cage door opening: Downey is calm and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Downey walks out the kennel, climbs onto the assessor’s lap and rubs up for attention. He allows petting all over and appreciates attention. Reaction to being picked up: Downey was a bit tense when held and struggles to be put down. Behavior Determination: Average Downey interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents. 07/22/16 As per previous owner, Downey has been around children ages 5 and up and usually keeps to himself and watches them play.
