06/23/17 14:39 Finder was able to put food into a carrier and have Donut go into the carrier. No other handling was done. Behavior during intake: Donut was at the back of the carrier growling and hissing. Donut put up a struggle when being transferred into another carrier. Counselor was unable to scan for a mc, collar or take a picture inside the den due to animal being fractious.

Upon intake, Donut was growling and hissing. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: tolerated some petting initially but then growling, swatting EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is re-arranged Reaction to assessor: Donut hisses upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Donut hisses and growls. Reaction to cage door opening: Donut lunges toward the front of the cage. Reaction to touch: Not attempted. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Lively VOCAL: Talkative CHARACTER TYPE: Independent POTENTIAL CHALLENGES: – Fearful RECOMMENDATIONS: – Placement with a New Hope partner Behavior observations _x_ New Hope Only Donut is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. He has tried to lunge, swat and bite and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
