*** SAFE 10/24/17 ** Divo is a white and gray DSH male who was neutered before coming into the shelter. He has no known health issues or injuries and has not seen a vet recently. Divo was adopted from ACC in 2008 and had been in the home since then. Divo’s owner moved to a location that does not allow pets and for this reason he was surrendered.
Hello, my name is Divo. My animal id is #9006. I am a desexed female white cat at the Brooklyn Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 9 years 2 weeks old. – P
I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 06-Oct-2017, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance- moving.
Divo 9006 is at risk for his medical condition, including an upper respiratory infection (URI), gingivitis, and obese. Please see the veterinary notes for further details and clarification. Behaviorally, she remains calm and warms up to attention. She will head-butt and roll around, but she may dislike being picked up. She is suitable for an adopter with an average amount of cat experience.

KNOWN HISTORY: Divo retreats when strangers come over but slowly warms up over time. She’s respectful around children and has never been around other cats or dogs. Her owner describes her as being mellow, shy and aloof with a medium activity level. She was tolerant when bathed, allows being brushed and didn’t mind being picked up or placed in a carrier. She’s litter box trained and likes to play with balls and toys. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Amenable to petting and exam, liked to be pet, got upset when tried to remove some matts around hind end, tech did have a more difficult time taking out of cage. Cage Condition: Cage is recently cleaned Reaction to assessor: Divo was relaxed and grooming herself inside her cubby. Reaction when softly spoken to: Divo makes eye contact with the assessor then rolls over on her side and starts to knead. Reaction to cage door opening: Divo lip licks then leans away from the front of the kennel. Reaction to touch: Divo sniffs the assessor’s hand then slowly in and accepts gentle petting on her cheeks. She gives head butts, rolls around, then perks up when pet along her back. Reaction to being picked up: Divo tenses up and starts to whine when picked up. She lip licks, looks around frantically then gets antsy and leaps back into the kennel. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Sweet Easy going POTENTIAL CHALLENGES: None BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION: Average Behavior Asilomar H – Healthy RECOMMENDATIONS: None BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Divo interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting.This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
