Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Divinci meows softly, comes to the front and rubs up against the kennel doors. Reaction when softly spoken to: Divinci reaches out with paws and continues to seek attention. Reaction to cage door opening: Divinci’s ears flatten briefly and he focuses on the assessor. Reaction to touch: Divinci sniffs the assessor’s hand and gives light head butts. He allows petting but quickly whips around and becomes focused on the assessor’s hand when touched on his back. Reaction to being picked up: Shadow lip licks and was a bit tense when held but slowly relaxes in the assessor’s arms. Behavior Determination: Experience Divinci may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. 06/30/16 Reaction to assessor: Divinci was curled up on his blanket in the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Divinci keeps his body low and slowly approaches the front of the kennel. Reaction to cage door opening: Divinci remains neutral. Reaction to touch: Divinci allows petting and lightly rubs up for attention. He keeps his body low and whips around quickly when touched on his back. His ears bend flat and he becomes focused on the assessor’s hand. Reaction to being picked up: Divinci was tense, struggled and leaped away back into the kennel. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Divinci tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his or her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
