** SAFE 07/13/17 ** Friendly CH cat needs some TLC – DIEGO is a very sweet kitty who is 3 years old and seems to have cerebellar hypoplasia. He is unable to use his hind limbs properly and falls over, has ataxia and some intention tremor while eating. Needs follow up vet eval. If you can give this special boy a home please hurry before his time runs out. He was found with another cat named SAN, who is still in need at the shelter, but who is not scheduled to die tomorrow. DIEGO MUST BE RESERVED BY AN ADOPTER BY NOON TOMORROW!

KNOWN HISTORY: Diego was brought in as a stray, so there is no information on his behavior in his previous home. He was a bit unsteady during intake, but was cooperative with handling. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Observed Behavior – allows full exam, BAR, very sweet EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Diego was lying down by the front and was calm, relaxed, and friendly. Reaction when softly spoken to: Diego stretches and lies down, sprawled out. Reaction to cage door opening: Diego remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Diego scoots his body closer to the assessor and leans hard for cheek rubs. He begins to purr and has a soft body throughout the interaction. Reaction to being picked up: Diego remains calm and continues to purr when held. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Social, Sweet, Affectionate BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Beginner Diego interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
