DIAMONTE – A1073718
Safe - 7-1-2016 Brooklyn
SAFE 7/1/16 This gorgeous girl has been at BACC since 5/14!?! Please give this potential Lap Kitty of the Month a forever home today!!!
A volunteer writes: Diamonte is a wonderful lady, who will win your heart like she did mine. This sweet lady loves head rubs. She would pick up her head so you can give her chin rubs, closing her eyes when you rub her body. Seeing her sweet smile, you know she is loving your affection and you would love to give her more. She is a nice girl who deserves a home.
Brooklyn Center
Diamonte, A1073718
Six years old – Spayed – Stray Weight 9lbs
***BEHAVIOR RE-ASSESSMENT 6/18: BEGINNER!!!!! (Was Experienced)***
Behavior, 5/17
Reaction to assessor: Diamonte does not come to front but remains neutral
When spoken quietly: Diamonte leans foward showing interest in the assessor
Reaction to door cage opening: Diamonte slowly approaches the assessor
Reaction to touch: Diamonte allows petting and attention with a slow approach
Try picking cat up: Diamonte is tolerant of this type of handling but tense.
Behavior Determination: Experience
At the time of the assessment Diamonte was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Remains motionless as I started to get closer but after a steady slow approach using soft voices she relaxed a little. I was able to pet her and interact with her. I was also able to pick her up and although she was tense no fractious behavior was display. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.

Another volunteer writes: Diamonte’s eyes shine like emeralds, big and green and lucent. When this cat looks at you, you want to just stare into her pretty eyes forever. She’s a bit shy, so you have to go slow with her, coaxing her forward toward your outstretched hand. But as shy as she may be, Diamonte does love having her chin rubbed and her neck stroked. My guess is that once she gets used to her new home, she would be a good candidate for Lap Kitty of the Month. But that would be up to her, and in the meantime, I know that she would appreciate being caressed, often and with feeling.
