***SAFE 06/26/17*** KITTEN DEVI IS A HEALTHY BUT UNDERWEIGHT KITTEN WHO WILL BE TAKEN FROM HER MOM AND KILLED IF NOT RESERVED BY NOON!! Denali and Devi were brought to us because the owner decided his “personal problems” were too much to continue to feed the mom cat Denali and her kitten. Momma is not listed tonight but her underweight baby Devi is. The ACC said Devi ” is at risk due to being underage/underweight” which means they have no reason to kill this kitten. PLEASE OFFER TO FOSTER DEVI BY NOON!!

Reaction to being picked up: Denali displays soft body language, but continues emitting a low growl
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate
VOCAL: Somewhat chatty
CHARACTER TYPE: Affectionate, Calm
BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average
Denali emits a low growl during the interaction, but this sound does not appear to be a warning or distance-increasing. None of her body language matches that normally seen when a cat is growling, so at this time we are unsure how to interpret this response. We recommend using care when interacting with Denali, especially while she is still adjusting to her new home, but otherwise we feel that she is appropriate for an adopter with an average amount of experience.
