DAVIS – A1108403
Safe - 4-20-2017 Brooklyn
***SAFE 04/20/17*** HANDSOME TUXIE!! Davis was a little shy and unsure of the shelter environment when he first came to us here at BACC, but he’s come so far in that time! He can be shy around new people, but with a little extra time and patience he opens up and is the BIGGEST sweetie. After three days he began to really enjoy being petted, and after four he’s purring up a storm! Just today he enjoyed the entire duration of time spent with our feline enrichment team, leaning in for head-butts and purring away. This shy but incredibly sweet boy currently has a URI. MUST BE RESERVED BY NOON!

04/12/2017 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
KNOWN HISTORY: Davis was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Friendly, Vocalize a lot ENRICHMENT NOTES: 04/10/17 Wide eyed with low body, crouched against kennel. Maintains eye contact when spoken to – alert. Tilts ears and leans backwards when pet along head. Came forward to smell treat when offered tuna. Licked treat while I was watching – maintaining eye contact. Didn’t eat treat. Gave Shoreline and sprayed feliway. 04/11/17 Sitting crouched in litterbox with a low body. Looks around room and licks lips when door opens. Meows and backs up in litterbox.Turns head away and licks lips when treat is offered. Begins to growl softly. Session ends. Not ready for further interaction. Sprayed Feliway. 04/12/17 Clover was crouched at the back of the kennel with wide eyes staring at the assessor. He keeps his tail wrapped up around his body and he slowly inches away when spoken to softly. When the door opens he flinches and starts lip licking. Seems very wary of his surroundings and stress meows when I approach him. Shows so much hesitation but slowly warms up with touch. Takes some time, eventually head perks up. Leans in for rubs/petting. Builds up confidence and approaches the front. Shy but sweet. Was a little tense when picked up but allowed it. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back VOCAL: Somewhat chatty CHARACTER TYPE: Shy, Sweet RECOMMENDATIONS: Experienced cat parent – Davis may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
