KNOWN HISTORY: Dapple was brought in as a stray, so there is no information on her behavior in her previous home. She had dilated eyes during intake, but she remained calm and allowed the counselor to conduct all handling. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Subjective: Calm, allows all handling ENRICHMENT NOTES: Resting in middle of cage, soft eyes and body. Lay in place when door opened, ate offered treats. Allowed and slightly leaned into pets, but more interested in eating. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Dapple was lying down in her litter box, calm and relaxed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Dapple looks at the assessor and blinks softly. Reaction to cage door opening: Dapple remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Dapple sniffs the assessor’s hand and accepts petting. She head-buts, leans in for cheek rubs, and rolls over to display her belly. She purred throughout the interaction and rubbed against her litter box to solicit more attention. Reaction to pick up: Dapple remains calm and allows all handling. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Social, Calm, Affectionate BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Please note that this cat is being treated for a medical condition at the time of evaluation. It is difficult to determine at this time how the medical condition may be affecting the behavior. In spite of her condition, she remains social and affectionate. Dapple interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.

DVM Intake Exam Estimated age: 1-3 years Microchip noted on Intake? n History : Lying down, blood near cat Subjective: Calm, allows all handling Evidence of Trauma seen – Bloody vulvar discharge Objective BAR-H, BCS 5/9, MMs pink EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted Oral Exam: Clean teeth PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: Female, bloody vaginal discharge, lactating MSI: Ataxia in both hind limbs. CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Rectal: Not performed Pelvic rads: Possible SI lux. Ilial symphysis is dislocated or fractured. Pubis is fractured. Possible left acetabular fracture. Pelvic canal not collapsed. Assessment: 1. Pelvic fracture, possible urethral trauma 2. Lactating Prognosis: Fair with cage rest and pain medication. Plan: 1. Simbadol 2. MiraLax 0.25 ml PO BID x10+ days to ensure pt can defecate well 3. Exercise restriction x60 days, repeat rads at that point 4.
