08/07/17 15:42 Black Widow was in the front of the carrier and was head butting and accepted all petting. Black Widow allowed being collared, having her picture taken, but she was upset when her leg was accidentally touched.

ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Sweet, Affectionate MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 8/7/17- Subjective: Slightly tense, but allows all handling ENRICHMENT NOTES: 8/8/17- Dozing at back, woke when door opened. Stood and came immediately to the front, soft eyes and body. Leaned and arched into pets, purred, really sweet. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Curious immediately comes soliciting at the front of the cage. Reaction to door opening: Curious remains standing at the front of the cage, relaxed body posture, soliciting attention. Reaction to touch: Curious head-butts the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: Unable to perform due to medical conditions. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Beginner Curious interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.

DVM Intake Exam Estimated age: 2-3 years based on dentition and overall size Microchip noted on Intake? Scanned positive# 985121004168226 History : Part of a colony – colony manager noticed that the cat’s leg was injured Subjective: Slightly tense, but allows all handling including of injured leg Objective BAR-H, MMs pink and moist, BCS 5/9 EENT: Serous nasal discharge. Eyes clear, ears clean. Oral Exam: Mild tartar and gingivitis. PLN: Enlarged left mandibular LN. Did not palpate popliteal LNs due to injury. H/L: NSR, NMA, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: Male neutered MSI: Left hind leg: the caudomedial aspect of the entire leg has a partial thickness ulceration and is alopecic with a moist discharge – in some areas the discharge is serous and in some areas it is cheesy white and thick. Pt is ambulatory x 4. No masses noted, healthy hair coat other than on the left hind leg. CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Rectal: Normal externally Assessment: 1. Large partial-thickness wound to left hind leg – R/O thermal burn vs. chemical burn vs. cutaneous neoplasia. Difficult area to bandage. If not healing well – consider bandaging vs. cutaneous biopsy vs. other diagnostics. 2. Mild dental disease Plan: 1. Clipped the fur around the ulceration and cleaned with chlorhexidine 2. Onsior 0.35 ml SQ SID x10 days 3. Amoxiclav 45.7 mg/ml 1 ml PO BID x10 days 4. Doxycycline 0.7 ml PO SID x10 days 5. Clean wound daily Prognosis: Assuming this is just a traumatic wound and not neoplastic – fair. There may be a large amount of scar tissue on the left hind leg after the wound heals. 1088
