08/23/2017 PET PROFILE MEMO
08/23/17 14:45 Basic Information: Cuqui is a 4 year old, spayed, domestic shorthair cat. The previous owner got Cuqui as a gift from a friend when she was kitten. She was taken to the vet about 7 months ago. Unfortunately, the previous owner had to move somewhere that didn’t allow animals. Socialization: Cuqui is a very shy cat that will hide when strangers come to the house. He has been around a 10 year old child but they keep their distance from each other. When she does play with adults he can be somewhat rough but he doesn’t play with children. She has never been around any other animals. She has never bitten another animal or person. Behavior: Cuqui will scratch furniture but he did not have a scratching post. She may hide in fear and scratch if a stranger gets too close to her. While in car she is calm and quiet. Previous owner hasn’t recently given Cuqui a bath but she would struggle when he did try. Previous owner has never trimmed her nails so he is unsure how she will react. She loves being brushed and isn’t bothered when picked up by previous owner. She will struggle to go in carrier and is ok with being disturbed while sleeping. For a new family to know: Cuqui is a shy, independent, quiet, fearful, cat. She was very attached to her previous owner and was not socialized with anyone else. She would follow him around or be in the same room as him. She has a medium activity level and loves toys that she can chase. She playfully “boxed” with her previous owner by sitting on her hind legs and putting her front paws up. She loves to sleep and usually sleeps on the sofa. She is an indoor only and eats Purina dry food 2 times a day. She is litter boxed trained. She used a uncovered litterbox with clumping litter. She may scratch the furniture but has never had a scratching post. Upon Intake, Cuqui was very tense and kept swatting and hissing at counselor through carrier. Allowed previous owner to collar and was calm with him. Counselor did not handle.
