***SAFE 05/16/17*** Perfectly healthy CRAYOLA is just a grown kitten who came into the shelter pregnant and was spay-aborted. Shelter staff wrote: Crayola came to us trapped and she is not the happiest kitty here. We don’t know if she will turn out to be the lap cat so she will need experienced cat person. Upon intake, Crayola attempted to flee. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Crayola is hiding in her den when I approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Crayola remains hidden, pressed against the back of the den. Reaction to cage door opening: Crayola hisses. Reaction to touch: Crayola growls and avoids touch, attempts to flee cage and does not allow handling. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate VOCAL: Somewhat chatty CHARACTER TYPE: Skittish, Timid POTENTIAL CHALLENGES: – Fearful RECOMMENDATIONS: – Placement with a New Hope partner Behavior observations _x_ New Hope Only Crayola is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. She has tried to is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
