These two sweeties were found sitting together under a tree, of all places…..CRAB is the elder of the two and has a BEGINNER rating, SHELL is not rated but they are both friendly…..SHELL has some corneal scarring on his eye which needs to be looked at by a competent vet…..Other than that, this is an instant cat family in the making!! 07/31/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – BEGINNER
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Our enrichment facilitator has interacted with Crab and at the time she hissed when approached. Crab had wide eyes focused on all movements. Warms up when touched, appreciates attention and slowly comes forward. Crab allows all handling and purrs softly. Reaction to assessor: Crab was sleeping on the blanket with her sibling When spoken quietly: Crab does not come to front but looks at you calm and relaxed Reaction to door cage opening: Crab remains soft and relaxed Reaction to touch: Crab slowly comes to the front and allows petting Try picking cat up: Crab is tolerant of this type of handling. Behavior Determination: Average Crab was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment she was displaying calm behavior, did not come to the front of the kennel a first but interacts with the Assessor, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Crab is displaying behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
