I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 30-Dec-2017, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance- moving.

Carrola is at risk due to being diagnosed with an Upper Respiratory Infection which is contagious to other cats. Carrola will likely require in home care with a course of antibiotics. Carrola should go to an experienced adopter that will allow her to be more independent.

KNOWN HISTORY:: Corrola was brought in without information on his behavior history or tendencies in a home environment.
MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:: Shy/timid, but allows all handling, tends towards flight rather than fight
ENRICHMENT NOTES:: 01/02/18 Lying in back of kennel with a low, tense body, tail wrapped around him. He tolerates petting along his head and body while turning his head to smell the bear-claw, ears shifting forward. Curious but unsure – needs more time to adjust.

Reaction to assessor:: Corrola was tense and curled up inside his litter box with wide, dilated eyes focused on the assessor.
Reaction when softly spoken to:: Corrola seems unsure of his surroundings and doesn’t get up or come forward when coaxed.
Reaction to cage door opening:: Corrola remains motionless.
Reaction to touch:: Corrola lip licks and slowly turns his head away when the assessor extends his hand out. He tolerates petting on his head and along his body, but remains completely immobile throughout the interaction.

Potential challenges comments:: Corrola has displayed fearful behavior during their stay in the care center and may dislike certain types of handling. Be sure to offer incentive such as treats or play time whenever the cat makes a small positive step.
