*** GONE 09/09/16 *** CORFU IS AN EBONY LADY WHO KNOWS HER MIND…..And she definitely doesn’t like the ACC! CORFU came in with a wound on her flank which is healing….However she is a totally terrified one year old at the ACC and needs to be pulled by a NEW HOPE rescue. CORFU has probably not had a lot of human contact so she will need time and patience to feel safe and learn to trust….IF YOU CAN PROVIDE CORFU WITH A SAFE HAVEN THAT SHE CAN BLOSSOM IN, PLEASE CONTACT A NEW HOPE RESCUE NOW!! If you need help finding a NEW HOPE rescue, email us at [email protected]

09/04/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
09/04/16 16:55 Behavior During Intake: Corfu came into our care as a stray. During his evaluation Corfu exhibited signs of nervousness by staying close to the back of the carrier. The counselor attempted to give him treats so as to coax him out of the carrier but he remained stiff, and uninterested in the food. The cat appeared stressed; (dilated pupils, stiff body) so the counselor did not collar or transport the cat into another carrier.

09/08/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Corfu was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Corfu was at the back of the kennel with wide eyes focused on the assessor’s movements. Reaction when softly spoken to: Corfu lip licks and remains motionless with eyes fixated on the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Corfu remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Corfu arches her back with ears bent flat and growls upon approach. She hisses and spits when the assessor extends his hand out and allows brief contact before swatting. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Corfu is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. She has tried to swat, is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
