Basic Information: Conner is a 2 year old unaltered domestic shorthair. He was given to owner as a gift when a kitten. He appears to have an injury on the right side of his face. Owner surrenders Conner due to personal problems in the home.
Social Life and Personality: Conner lived with one female adults and children ages 6,9, and 16 years old. Owner stated Conner is friendly towards everyone in the house and visitors. He’s gentle with children and adults as well. Conner lived with another male cat and he was respectful and tolerant of him even when the other cat swatted at him. Conner became friends with a female pit-bull that lived in the basement and was affectionate towards her. Conner was an indoor/outdoor cat but his activity level is low. Owner describes Conner as friendly, affectionate playful and independent.
Behavior: Conner has never bitten a human or another animal. He likes to take showers and et nail trimmed. He enjoys being brushed and picked up. He isn’t bothered going inside carrier or disturb while sleeping.
For a New Family to Know: Conner is litter box trained and uses a hooded litter box. He likes to follow owner around the house if he’s indoors but prefers to be outdoors. Conner use to go outside on a leash and thinks he’s a human being owner stated. He eats dry and wet food called 9 lives and Friskies but prefers to get vegetables, cheese and turkey meat. He sleeps on children beds or on the couch. He likes to play with stuffed toys or with scratching post. Owner suggests Conner will do best in any type of home.
Intake Behavior: Upon intake Conner was soft body, attention seeking and calm. He ate treats and purred. He scanned negative for a microchip and allowed all handling.
Conner’s previous owner reports he has lived with one adult and children ages 6, 9, and 16. He was friendly towards strangers and everyone in the home. He was gentle when playing with both children and adults. Around another male cat in the home, he was respectful and tolerant – even when the other cat swatted at him. He was affectionate with the female pit-bull that lived in the basement. He has a low activity level and was described as friendly, affectionate, playful, and independent. He follows the owner around when he is at home, but prefers to be outdoors. The owner believes Conner thinks he is a human, so they used to walk him outside on a leash.
Reaction to Assessor: Conner meows by the front and is calm, relaxed, and friendly.
Reaction when softly spoken to: Conner looks at the assessor and sniffs around.
Reaction to cage door opening: Conner remains soft and relaxed.
Reaction to touch: Conner head-butts, begins to purr, and leans into petting. He was very affectionate during the interaction, but attempts to explore outside his cage afterwards.
Reaction to being picked up: Conner remains calm and purrs when held.

Conner interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
