History : was found on the side of the road looking lethargic; ear tipped Subjective: QAR, dehydrated Observed Behavior – initially allowed handling; after more time, he started hissing, growling and holding ears back Evidence of Cruelty seen – Evidence of Trauma seen – Objective BCS 3/9 EENT: OD-mild hemorrhage in anterior chamber; mild flare; iridis; absent PLR and absent menace OS-pupil mid sized, dec PLR; difficult to evaluate menace but suspect visual Oral Exam: mm pale pk, hypersalivation; no obvious abscess or other oral injuries PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: soft, nonpainful, doughy; no palpable masses U/G: neutered male MSI: ambulatory x 4 with no obvious signs of orthopedic disease mod diffuse muscle wasting hair coat sl unthrifty no external wounds/injuries CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Rectal: not performed Assessment 1. uveitis OD-r/o traumatic vs infectious vs idiopathic vs other 2. muscle wasting-r/o systemic illness vs GI disease vs neoplastic vs malnutrition vs other Plan Rec’d CBC/chem/T4 neo/poly/dex OD BID x 7 days 100 ml SQF x 3 days monitor app and for signs of systemic illness Prognosis: fair SURGERY: neutered
