KNOWN HISTORY: Coco was brought in as a stray, so there is no information on her behavior in her previous home. Her finder reports she used the litter box very well and got along well with their other resident cats. She allowed all handling during the intake process. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Observed Behavior – Allows exam at first but begins to growl a little, much better with handler, tries to avoid being picked up initially but make no aggressive gestures EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Coco looks at the assessor and is calm and relaxed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Coco ignores the assessor and starts to eat. Reaction to cage door opening: Coco remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Coco allows the assessor to pet her all over while she is eating and she doesn’t seem to mind. Reaction to pick up: Coco is a bit tense during pick up, but allows handling and will wiggle to be placed back down after. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Calm, Independent BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average Coco interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. his cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
