*** SAFE 05/03/16*** BONDED SIBLINGS ZEBY AND COBY ARE ONLY 6 MONTH OLD KITTENS – BUT THE ACC WILL KILL THEM BOTH AT NOON TOMORROW FOR HAVING A COMMON COLD!! ZEBY and COBY are both 6 months old. Their owner dumped both of them when she had to move and sadly took a non-pet friendly apartment. Both these kittens are friendly, gentle and also lived with one other cat who apparently was not brought to the shelter. ZEBY and COBY were said to like to follow their owner around and sit on his or her lap. They were playful, chased balls, and very active. Their intake notes state that ZEBY and COBY are AMAZING YOUNG CATS AND DESERVE A GREAT HOME!! WOW – and yet the ACC will kill 2 AMAZING kittens for a cold!! 04/18/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
04/15/16 19:39 Behavior during intake: Coby allowed all handling during intake. He allowed me to collar him and take his photo with no issue. Basic information: Coby is a 6 month old, male domestic short hair cat. Both he and his brother Zeby were born in the former owner’s home. They are being surrendered to MACC because the former owner had to move out of her home and she is not allowed to have pets in her new apartment. Socialization: Both Zeby and Coby are very friendly to strangers. They have never been around children. They are both playful and gentle when they play. They get along very well with each other and they did live with a third cat that just liked to be left alone. They have never been around dogs. Behavior history: Neither of these cats has ever even come close to getting upset, let alone bite or scratched another animal or human. They seem to really enjoy car rides. They don’t mind being picked up or held for short periods. These are very playful cats. For a new family to know: Both Zeby and Coby are described as friendly and very affectionate. They are both very active cats. When there owner is home they will follow them around and sit on their lap. They both really love balls, stuffed toys and wand toys. They are used to sleeping in a cat box with blankets, in the hallway. They are used to a mix of wet food and dry food. Zeby and Coby are both amazing, young cats and they deserve great homes!

04/17/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Coby’s previous owner reports Coby is friendly to strangers. He has never been around children, but is playful and gentle when playing. He gets along very well with his sibling, Zeby. He also lived with another cat, but the third cat liked to be left alone. He doesn’t mind being picked up or held for short periods. He was described as friendly, very affectionate, and playful. He is very active and will follow the owner around at home and sit on their lap. Reaction to assessor: Coby was calm and relaxed, lying down upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Coby leans over and blinks sleepily. Reaction to cage door opening: Coby becomes alert, but remains calm. Reaction to touch: Coby remains in place for petting and begins to purr, but he watches the assessor’s hand from time to time and seems a bit wary of his surroundings. Reaction to being picked up: Coby allows handling, but he becomes antsy and struggles to jump back into his cage. Behavior Determination: Experience Coby tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
