Hello, my name is Cleopatra. My animal id is #12889. I am a desexed female calico cat at the Brooklyn Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 2 years 2 weeks old. – P
I came into the shelter as a stray on 17-Nov-2017.
Cleopatra is at risk due to being diagnosed with an Upper Respiratory Infection and will likely require home rest and a series of antibiotics for up to 14 days. This is a contagious illness to other cats. Cleopatra has been friendly and allowed handling while in the care center.

Active, allows all handling ORAL: adult dentition, no oral lesions EENT: Pink mm, eyes clear, no ocular or nasal discharge, ears wnl HL: NMA, RR, Lungs C&E ABD: SNP, NMP INTEG: GHC, no ectos noted MS: Ambulatory x 4 UG: FI, no vulvar d/c, no MGTs NEURO: A&A A: Apparently healthy P: Continue to monitor while at BACC. OK for surgery tomorrow Excellent prognosis
URI noted on rounds S/O: QAR. Attention seeking. Appetite OK EENT: Eyes clear, mild to moderate serous nasal discharge HL: Sneezing, sneeze marks, normal RR/RE INTEG: WNL MS: Ambulatory x 4 UG: Spayed A: URI P: Rec doxycycline 1.1ml PO q24 x 10 days. Excellent prognosis

Cleopatra was very easy to handle during intake. She allowed counselor to pet her, pick her up, and collar her. She was most likely someone’s house cat at one time. Very domestic behavior.

KNOWN HISTORY:: Cleopatra was brought into our care center as a stray so we have no previous history available.
MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:: Quiet in cage but will not allow handling, placed in net, growling, hissing, striking.
Cage Condition:: Cage is slightly re-arranged
Reaction to assessor:: Cleopatra is lying curled up towards the front of her kennel, body relaxed and ears forward as the assessor approaches.
Reaction when softly spoken to:: Cleopatra lifts her head and makes eye contact when spoken to, then lowers her head back down and closes her eyes.
Reaction to cage door opening:: Cleopatra remains calm as the cage door opens.
Reaction to touch:: Cleopatra allows petting along her head and body while remaining relaxed, leaning in gently with her head.
