05/31/17 17:44 Basic Information. This cat came in as an owner surrender with her sibling. She is an all-black, female 1 year old cat. She’s been kept since she was first born but could not be kept due to her previous owner moving out of state. Socialization. Around strangers and children they are described as shy for a few minutes but when comfortable she becomes extremely friendly. She has been around children ages 7, 9 and 11 and around them she is very respectful, relaxed and usually very tolerant. She plays very gentle whether it’s with adults, children or cats, loves being around other cats and will also be very relaxed and respectful with them too. However; when she sees any type of dog through her window or near her, she will often growl and stare until the dog is gone. Behavior. This cat is a cat who will meow and cry to let you know that she is hungry and ready to eat and will pee on the side of her litter box to let you know that it is dirty and needs to be cleaned. She enjoys car rides and will either sleep through the whole ride or will be starring outside the window and enjoy the view. She is not a fan of bath time or having her nails trimmed and will hiss, swat and attempt to bite you just to avoid either one. However; she will enjoy you wiping her down with some cleaning wipes, brushing her fur and being picked up and cuddled. For a New Family to Know. This cat is described as a friendly, affectionate, playful, mellow, independent, somewhat shy and fearful and lovable cat. She has a medium activity level, will follow you around at home until you sit down and when you do sit she will join you and sit on your lap. She enjoys looking out of the window and watching all the people and animals walk by and enjoys playing with balls, bells, string, wand toys and LOTS of catnip toys. She can sleep practically anywhere, eats 1 can of Friskies wet food a day and adores getting some temptations treats. She prefers a hooded litter box with clay like litter and enjoys carpet made scratching posts. Intake: Upon intake they did not allow handling or being collard however did allow to be placed in a carrier.

Other notes: She has a medium activity level, will follow you around at home until you sit down and when you do sit she will join you and sit on your lap. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Observed Behavior – puffed tail, growled but allowed full exam ENRICHMENT NOTES: 6/1/17 Seems very unsure. Initially in cubby. Came out to main compartment on approach, whining. Hissed when spoken to. Came briefly forward to sniff assess-a-hand through bars, then retreated, hissed, and raised paw as if to swat. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Cinnamon Bun was resting and had her eyes closed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Cinnamon Bun looks at the assessor and blinks softly. Reaction to cage door opening: Cinnamon Bun grumbles and wraps her tail tightly against her body. Reaction to touch: Cinnamon Bun inches forward, but shifts backwards again, unsure. She was hesitant of contact, but accepts petting and warms up, leaning in for cheek rubs and pushing her head up against the assessor’s hand. Reaction to pick up: Cinnamon Bun is tense during pick up and will wiggle to be placed back down. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Shy, Sweet, Affectionate RECOMMENDATIONS: – Experienced cat parents – Cinnamon Bun tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may need more time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
