I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 04/22/2017 from NY 10472, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

04/22/17 09:19 Basic information: Cicada was brought in as a stray. The finder found him on the street, the finder placed Cicada in a cat carrier and brought him to the shelter. No other information could be provided during intake. Intake Behavior: During intake Cicada had tense, stiff body. Sydney would retreat from extended hand and would often attempt to flee from the handler. We were able to scan for a microchip (negative), collar, pictured and place in a cat kennel.

ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Calm, Sweet MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Subjective: Fearful EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Cicada looks neutral, lying down on her cage bedding when approached by the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Cicada becomes alert with normal shape eyes. Reaction to touch: Cicada leans in to the assessor’s hand and began to socially eat. Reaction to Being Picked up: Cicada allows the pickup and remains calm. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Cicada interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
