***SAFE 04/25/16*** CHLOE IS A CHARMER!!….A volunteer writes: We have so many awesome cats coming and going all the time at the Care Center that sometimes a real gem gets overlooked. That seems to be the case with Chloe. This beautiful patchwork quilt of a kitty was brought in by her owner a few weeks ago, and it’s taken Chloe a bit of time to get used to her new surroundings. Talk to her softly, however, and she comes out of her shell and displays confidence, curiosity, and nice manners. Chloe’s former person had great things to say about her: she’s litterbox trained and has never had an accident, liked to follow her owner around the house, plays well with other cats, and was very gentle with the one-year-old baby in the house. Please don’t walk past this good girl’s kennel in the cat adoption room. She’s a jewel of a cat and will make a new family or pet parent so very happy…..CHLOE WILL BLOSSOM WITH JUST A LITTLE TIME AND THEN BE YOUR PURRFECT COMPANION!! APPLY TO FOSTER OR ADOPT HER NOW!! 04/12/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Chloe’s former owner stated she is shy around stangers. She will hide but will come out when she is comfortable. She lived in the home with a one year old baby and was gentle with the baby. She has been around other cats and plays fine with them. She does not like dogs. Also, Chloe is described as friendly, affectionate, and playful. She loves to play with the babies toys and runs around the house. She has a high activity level. Reaction to assessor: Chloe looks tense in the cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Chloe remains sitting upright at the back of the cage, alert with pupils dilated. Reaction to touch: Chloe accepts a brief stroke, but becomes agitated to the touch and began to growl in place. Placement determination: Experience/nochild Chloe tolerates attention and petting but may be stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
