04/19/17 20:27 Basic information: Chillin is a 10 yr. old male domestic short hair mix. The owner surrendered Chillin because of personal problems. Chillin has no health problems and the owner has not taken him to a vet. Socialization: The owner states that around strangers Chillin is friendly and outgoing. Chillin has lived with children between the ages of 7 and 10 yearsand gets along with them Chillin has never been around other pets. Chillin has never bitten or scratched anyone. Behavior: Chillin has never been bathed, had his nails trimmed. He does not mind having his coat brushed or being picked up and being placed in a cat carrier. For a new family to know: The owner describes Chillin friendly cat with a medium activity level. Chillin has never played with cat toys; he lives mostly indoors and sleeps anywhere in the house that he wants. In the home Chillin will follow the owner around and prefers to stay in same room as the owner. Chillin eats kibbles and bits brand dry and wet cat food and is open feed. He is litter box trained and uses an uncovered litter box with clumping litter. Chillin has never been given a scratching post so the owner does not know if he will use it or not. Behavior during intake: During intake Chillin was somewhat tense with stiff body, he allowed us to scan (-) put on collar, photographed and placed in cat kennel.

MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 4/21/17- Observed Behavior – nice boy, easy to handle and examine EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Chillin immediately comes soliciting at the front of the cage. Reaction to door opening: Chillin remains standing at the front of the cage, relaxed body posture, soliciting attention. Reaction to touch: Chillin head-butts the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: Allows the pickup and remains calm. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Beginner Chillin interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
