08/11/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Chilli came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Chilli was nervous and curled up with his bunkmate. Reaction to assessor: Chilli attempts to hide upon assessor’s approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Chilli appears very tense and continues to hide. Reaction to cage door opening: Chilli is stiff and alert, tries to flee. Reaction to touch: Chilli moves away and is motionless when touched. Placement Determination: New Hope Only Chilli is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. Chilli is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
