SAFE 7/11/17 Poor Chiclet was found outside and he couldn’t walk. He has a femoral fracture in two places and some corneal scarring on his eye. He is being treated with pain meds and needs surgical repair. Please offer to foster this 5 month old kitten.

Medical Summary DVM Intake Exam Estimated age: Estimated 4.5 months based on dentition – adult incisors, deciduous canines. Microchip noted on Intake? Scanned positive History : Stray, found outside, couldn’t walk Subjective: Calm, relaxed, allows all handling Evidence of Trauma seen – Swollen right hind leg at knee Objective BAR-H, MMs pink and moist, BCS 5/9 EENT: Right eye – corneal opacity (fluorescein stain negative) covering the ventral 1/3 of cornea, synechia visible between iris and cornea. Ears clean, no nasal discharge noted Oral Exam: Adult incisors, deciduous canine teeth. PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: Male neutered MSI: Right hind leg: large amount of swelling along the femur, round 1 cm ulceration and 1 cm long linear laceration on the dorsal stifle. Left hind leg: no swelling noted along the femur, but multiple small partial-thickness wounds on the dorsal aspect of the stifle. No other lesions noted. CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Sedated with 0.15 ml hydromorphone IM and 0.17 ml dexmedetomidine IM for rads – right femur is fractured at the neck (minimally displaced) and at the distal growth plate (severely displaced). Assessment: 1. Right femur fractured in two spots 2. Right iridial-corneal synechia and corneal scarring – likely from a puncture wound. No active ulceration. Plan 1. Continue hydromorphone 0.15 ml q6 hours 2. Seek placement ASAP Prognosis: Fair with surgical repair. Two fractures and one is at the growth plate. 1088
