11/07/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Chevolo was brought in without information on his behavioral tendencies in his previous home environment. He lived in a home with multiple cats and was reported to attempt to flee during intake. The medical team says he was nervous during his initial medical exam, but allowed handling to be conducted. Reaction to assessor: Chevolo was curled up by the back, calm and relaxed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Chevolo looks at the assessor with soft eyes, and then looks around at his surroundings. Reaction to cage door opening: Chevolo remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Chevolo appeared unsure of contact, but remained completely immobile as the assessor pet him on his head and body. His body remained tense, but he did not display any additional reaction. Reaction to pick up: Chevolo was tense during pick up, but remains calm when held. Behavior Determination: Experienced Chevolo tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
