Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Cheetara was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Cheetara was curled up in the back of the kennel with wide eyes focused on the assessor. Reaction when softly spoken to: Cheetara hissed at the assessor then raised her body up and lip licked. Reaction to cage door opening: Cheetara is alert and remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Cheetara comes forward very quickly and head butts when force. She seems unsure and allows petting along her body with a slow and gentle approach. Her body feels a bit tense, she tends to look around and focus on her surrounding and she leans in when rubbed on her cheeks. After a couple soft passes she became uncomfortable and swatted at the assessor then retreated. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Cheetara tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
