***SAFE 05/25/17***SECOND CHANCE…MAKE IT COUNT… CHEESECAKE WANTS TO BE YOUR SWEET KITTY COMPANION!! Cheesecake was found eating out of garbage cans and the finder decided to trap him and brought him to ACC. He was able to pet him and pick him up however, Cheesecake is not doing well in the shelter environment and would do best with experienced person. CAN YOU GIVE CHEESECAKE A PLACE TO CHILL? MUST RESERVE THROUGH A NEW HOPE RESCUE BY NOON!

Upon intake, Cheesecake allowed handling. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Very nervous, attempted to flee, limited exam EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Cheesecake is hiding in his den Reaction when softly spoken to: Cheesecake remains hidden, pressed against the back of the den Reaction to cage door opening: Cheesecake searches for an exit Reaction to touch: Cheesecake moves to avoid touch and attempts to flee cage, but is not fractious ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Timid, Skittish POTENTIAL CHALLENGES: – Fearful RECOMMENDATIONS: – Placement with a New Hope partner Behavior observations _x_ New Hope Only Cheesecake is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home.
