Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Name and A#: A1103291 Cheddar Date: 2/11/2017 KNOWN HISTORY: Cheddar came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Cheddar was tense and nervous. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Cheddar looks at the assessor, body neutral Reaction when softly spoken to: Cheddar remains motionless Reaction to cage door opening: Cheddar walks to the far end of the cage Reaction to touch: Cheddar shifts to avoid touch, but is not fractious Reaction to being picked up: Not attempted MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: the cat is attempting to flee ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Shy, Skittish, Independent RECOMMENDATIONS: _x_ Experienced, adult home only POTENTIAL CHALLENGES: _x_ Fearful Behavior observations _x_ Experienced, Adult Only Cheddar tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his or her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home who understands this cat may need time to warm up to his/her new home and family at her own pace.
