KNOWN HISTORY: Chase was brought in as a stray, so there is no information on his behavior in his previous home. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Observed Behavior – calm, allows palpation EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is slightly re-arranged Reaction to assessor: Chase was lying down by the front, calm and relaxed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Chase looks at the assessor and averts his gaze. His breathing quickens, but his eyes remain soft. Reaction to cage door opening: Chase remains in place. Reaction to touch: Chase sniffs the assessor’s hand, but his ears tilt sideways when pet gently on his head. he appears unsure initially, but he leans in for cheek rubs and softly head-butts after. Reaction to being picked up: Did not attempt due to injury. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Shy initially, Calm, Sweet BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average Please note that this cat is being treated for a medical condition at the time of evaluation. It is difficult to determine at this time how the medical condition may be affecting the behavior. In spite of his condition, he remains friendly and social. Chase interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
