07/20/16 19:18 Basic Information: Charlie is a male domestic short hair cat who was surrendered due to spraying in his previous home and attakcing the other cats in his home. Socialization: Charlie has never been around strangers, children or dogs so it is unknown how he will react to being around them. Charlie has lived with two other cats and he has been aggressive toward them. Behavior: Charlie has bitten and scratched both people and other animals before. Charlie is not bothered when riding in a car. Charlie’s previous owner did not attempt give him a bath, trim his nails, brush his coat, or disturbs him while he is resting so it is unknown how he will react to those events. Charlie will struggle when being picked up/held and is not bothered when someone places him in a carrier. Charlie will spray in his household everyday For a new Family to Know: Charlie is described as: confident, asertive, and talkative with a medium activity level. When at home Charlie will follo waround his owner. Charlie was not given any toys so it is unknown how he wil react to them. Charlie likes to sleep under the couch and on the window. Charlie was fed dry food on an open feeding schedule. Charlie is litter box trained and used a hooded litter box with clumping litter Charlie will sometimes scratch on the furniture, Charlie also had a scratching post made of rough rope. Intake behavior: Charlie allowed staff to collar, scan for a microchip and take pictures with no signs of aggression. Charlie was very active during his intake and kept walking around and looking everywhere. Charlie was not interestedin being pet or held.

07/22/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE

Charlie’s has never been around strangers, children or dogs so it is unknown how he will react to being around them. Charlie has lived with two other cats and has been irritable towards them. Also, he is described as: confident, asertive, and talkative with a medium activity level. Reaction to assessor: Charlie looks tense, lying down on his cage bedding when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Charlie remains in place, alert with eyes wandering. Reaction to touch: Charlie seems unsure at first, then slowly leans into the assessor’s hand while he looks around his surroundings. Reaction to Being Picked up: He becomes antsy then jumps back into the cage. Placement determination: Experience Charlie tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
