I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 06/26/2017 from NY 10033, owner surrender reason stated was HOARDING. I came in with Group/Litter #K17-102181.

ACTIVITY LEVEL: Steady VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Bold, Skittish ENRICHMENT NOTES: 6/27/17- Curled up at back with siblings. Became alert when door opened, stiffened in place, started hissing. Hunched lower to avoid touch, continued hissing. 6/28/17- Dozing in litter box. Woke and became alert when door opened. Started hissing at offered assess-a-hand. Hunched low, continued hissing when pet. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Chachi looks tense, tuck limbs at the back during the approach. Reaction to cage door opening: Chachi stiffens up, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Chachi hisses at the assessor’s hand, but when touched he remains immobile in place with no interest. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Chachi may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.
