08/11/2017 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Shy, Sweet, Curious KNOWN HISTORY: Lived Indoors Previously lived with: adults Behavior toward strangers: shy for a few days and will hide away from them Behavior toward children: has been around a 2, 3, and 6 year old and would hide away of them Bite or Scratch history: none Litter box training: There are some litter box accidents a few times a month and will pee outside the box. CeeCee previous owner reports that she was eliminating (urinating) outside the litter box, but we are unaware of what, if any, modification steps were taken to try and address this behavior. We cannot be sure whether this behavior will continue in a home environment after treatment for the medical condition has been completed, but we recommend that potential adopters be comfortable with management and modification techniques for elimination outside the litter box should this behavior continue in a home environment. Other notes: described her as mellow, fearful, and independent with a low activity level. However, she is relaxed and gentle with the people she knows. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: CeeCee remains neutral, lying down on her cage bedding during the approach. Reaction to cage door opening: CeeCee engages the front, alert with eyes wide open, ears erect and forward. Reaction to touch: CeeCee seems unsure, slowly engages and began to hiss while distance increases. She also seems conflicted while soliciting attention and remains cautious with her surroundings. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Ceecee may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home who understands this cat may need time to warm up to her new home and family at her own pace.
