***SAFE 08/07/16***CECE, a handsome neutered gray male 6 year old, lived happily with his owner, until the owner died. Now CECE is at the shelter, where tomorrow he’ll be killed if he doesn’t find someone to rescue him! Even though this guy is a male, the evaluators refer to him as a “she”—but don’t be mistaken, this handsome guy is a cuddly male, ready for a home! CECE is afraid at the shelter, but allows gentle petting and relaxes a little. He meows quietly to say hi!! This cute guy with the big eyes would make a WONDERFUL pet for an experienced pet home with no children. CECE loved his owner, and will love you, ESPECIALLY IF YOU SAVE HIS LIFE TODAY! Please save this sweet guy with the sad story!! You’ll be paid back in purrs!!

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Cece was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. She attempted to run and hide upon intake and did not allow handling during her initial medical exam. Reaction to assessor: Cece was by the back, curled up by the corner and has her tail wrapped closely around her body. Reaction when softly spoken to: Cece meows very softly and lip licks. Reaction to cage door opening: Cece remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Cece appears to become stiff, but sniffs the assessor’s hand. She accepts gentle petting on her head and body, but starts to breathe heavily. She seems wary of the environment, but remains in place and does not display any further reaction. Behavior Determination: Experienced, No Children Cece tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
