Pre-surgical PE: BARH – BCS 5/9 — caution very skittish/limited PE H/L nma, nsf; no c/s/v/d observed or reported – healing abrasions on top of head and below left eye snp abd., amb x 4 Intact male nsf – ok for neuter – 0577 Exam & surgery performed by Dr. 0577 Feline neuter Anesthesia – 0.1mL Telazol induction. Sx. – Routine scrotal castration. No sutures placed, incisions left open to drain. Green linear tattoo placed on ventral abdomen. 0.56mL Onsior injectable and 0.74mL Simbadol for pain management.

ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Skittish, Independent MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 5/9/17-Observed Behavior -shut down, scared ENRICHMENT NOTES: 5/10/17- Curled up at back of cubby, eyes wide, whiskers forward. Stiffened in place when door opened. Flattened ears, shifted in place, and started lip licking when touched. 5/11/17- Curled up at back of cubby, tense posture. Flinched and curled up tighter when door opened, put ears sideways. Hissed and flattened ears entirely when touched, started to retreat. Ate treats once left alone. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Cayenne looks tense, crouched position turned sideways at the back when approached. Reaction to cage door opening: Becomes alert with eyes wandering. Reaction to touch: Flinches when touched, lip licks, and attempts to retreat further away from the assessor’s hand. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Cayenne may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.
