07/24/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Cassius hisses, growls at the assessor When spoken quietly: Cassius hisses, growls at the assessor Reaction to door cage opening: Cassius continues to hiss and strikes at the cage door Reaction to touch: Cassius hisses and swats at the assessor Try picking cat up: Cassius is not tolerant of this type of handling Behavior Determination: NewHope Cassius was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. Cassius seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment she was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. Cassius is extremely fearful and currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
