As you can see from the video, she loves to be petted on her forehead, cheeks and chin. It’s hard to stop petting her when you can see how much she purrs and enjoys it! Carmela is an affectionate and sweet lady who is looking for a forever home! 12 year old CARMELA was brought in the shelter as a stray. She is underweight and has some dental issues. ENRICHMENT NOTES: 8/27/17- Sitting up in top cubby, grooming. Turned around when touched, started eating offered treats. Paused after a bit, started leaning and arching into pets, purred. Very sweet! EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Carmela immediately comes soliciting at the front of the cage. Reaction to door opening: Carmela remains standing at the front of the cage, relaxed body posture, soliciting attention. Reaction to touch: Carmela head-butts the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: Allows the pickup and remains calm. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Beginner Carmela interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
