Carina is a friendly girl and allows all handling. She would love to have a home where she can get lots of TLC and follow up care.

Abd rads: EXTREMELY LARGE fluid/soft tissue opacity tubular organ on L and R ventral abdomen, causing dorsomedial displacement of the SI and colon.
ASSESSMENT: Very large pyometra!!

1. OVH ASAP
2. Enrofloxacin 100 mg/ml 0.25 ml IV SLOWLY – SID x4 days
3. Clavamox 1.2 ml PO BID x7 days

Objective
BAR-H, MMs pink and moist, BCS 4.5/9
EENT: Mild black discharge AU. Eyes clear, no nasal or ocular discharge noted.
Oral Exam: Left maxillary dental arcade – severe tartar, gingivitis, gingival hyperplasia. Right maxillary dental arcade – missing most PMs and Ms.
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, Lungs clear, eupnic
ABD: Soft, severely laterally distended, non painful, no masses palpated – no fetuses palpated.
U/G: Female, small but prominent nipples, mild crusty vulvar discharge.
MSI: Right front leg, 3rd toenail is curled around and possibly penetrating pad. Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat
CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Rectal: Normal externally
Assessment:
1. Suspect pyometra
2. Severe dental disease
3. RFL 3rd toenail possibly penetrating pad
Prognosis: Fair with treatment ASAP
Plan:
1. CBC/chemistry/T4
2. Sedation with butorphanol 0.12 ml IM and Dexdomitor 0.2 ml IM
3. Abd rads, clip RFL 3rd toenail
4. IVC placement, IV LRS 12 ml/hr
