10/06/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Captian came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Captian tried to flee and was very afraid of human contact. Reaction to assessor: Captian is hiding in the back. Reaction when softly spoken to: Captian becomes very alert, wide eyes and stiff. Reaction to cage door opening: Captian retreats. Reaction to touch: Captian hisses, growls and swats at the assessor. Placement Determination: New Hope Only Captian is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. Captian is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
