SAFE 11/16/17 CANYON is one poor cat that truly needs a miracle. He is FELV & FIV positive . He has traumatic eye injury vs infection vs neoplasia. given retro viral status, neoplasia is more likely. CANYON does not stand a chance unless an angel comes in to save the day.

-mm pk, tacky; CRT <2 sec
-OD: severe globe rupture with periocular inflammation; mucoid and fibrinous discharge along wound
-OS: mild serous discharge, slightly blepharospasm, elevated 3rd eyelid
-mild serous nasal discharge
-eupnic, heart/lungs WNL; soft purr
-soft, nonpainful abdomen
-mild diffuse muscle wasting
-ambulatory x 4 with no lameness or ataxia noted

severe eye disease OD , appears to have ruptured globe with granulation tissue, but surrounding eyelids are very inflamed as are ipsalateral LN.
Observed Behavior -purring, leans into scratches
Evidence of Cruelty seen -n
Evidence of Trauma seen -y

EENT: eyes: see above, ears clean, no nasal or ocular discharge noted
Oral Exam: halitosis, severe. no cause seen in mouth
PLN: right side SMLN very enlarged
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic
ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated
U/G: intact , 2 testes
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat
CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Assessment: severe eye disease, FELV+FIV+
traumatic eye injury vs infection vs neoplasia. given retro viral status, neoplasia is more likely
Prognosis: poor
Plan:onsior and simbadol for pain control, will need enucleation and biopsy if placed
SURGERY:
permanently waived due to illness
