11/19/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
As per previous owner, Calle has lived with an 11 year old child and was relaxed and respectful towards him. She doesn’t play much with adults or children but when she does play she plays gently. Calle has never spent time with doge but lived with other cats in the house and was affectionate and respectful towards the cats but didn’t play with them. She loves having her coat brushed, doesn’t mind being placed in a carrier and will jump out of your arms if you pick her up to hold her. Her owner describes her as mellow, independent, affectionate and shy with a medium activity level. At home she likes to be in her favorite spot under the table and she enjoys playing with strings, and catnip. Calle has a scratching post made of a rope/ twine material but will scratch on the couch also. Reaction to assessor: Calle was lying on her blanket near the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Calle is curious, lifts her head up and leans forward to interact with the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Calle gets startled and curls up. Reaction to touch: Calle is hesitant and leans away when the assessor extends his hand out. She doesn’t seem interested in contact; lip licks occasionally but allows petting all over with a slow approach. After a couple soft passes she faces the assessor then gently leans in when rubbed on her cheeks. She shifts her body weight, becomes more relaxed and appreciates attention. After a couple minutes of interacting with her she slowly makes her way forward with her tail at body level and leans in for attention. Reaction to being picked up: Calle is a bit tense when picked up, looks around wary of her surroundings then leaps back. Behavior Determination: Experience Calle may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
